The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) requested the Netherlands Cricket Board (KNCB) to postpone the series, citing the necessity to alleviate the strain on an increasingly congested cricket calendar.
The T20I tour of Pakistan to the Netherlands, initially planned for May next year, has been deferred due to scheduling clashes.
Both boards are now exploring alternative dates to reschedule the series. Initially, Pakistan had expressed their intention to revisit the Netherlands following their CWC Super League series in Rotterdam in 2022.
A three-match T20I series was outlined for early May, preceding Pakistan's planned tour to Ireland and England.
However, the tight schedule resulting from Pakistan's home series against New Zealand in April prompted the PCB to seek a rearrangement of the Dutch leg of their European tour.
It's worth noting that Pakistan recently finalised two five-match T20I series with New Zealand in 2024, with the Men in Green travelling to New Zealand in January and the Blackcaps returning in April.
With the postponement of the Netherlands tour, Pakistan's T20I count leading up to the 2024 T20 World Cup will now consist of 16 matches.
