The District and Sessions Court Lahore has disposed of the bail petition of the main suspect in the case of killing six members of a family in a car accident in Defence, Lahore.
The court rejected Afnan's application for being withdrawn.
Additional Sessions Judge Shahid Mehmood heard the bail application of the suspect, Afnan.
His lawyer said the police had now added provisions of terrorism to the case, so they wished to withdraw the bail application.
The provisions of terrorism have been included in the case, the plaintiff’s lawyer said, adding that after the inclusion of Section 7 of ATA, the application is not maintainable.
Afnan had filed for bail before the sessions court Lahore after his arrest. A case against him has been registered at the Defense C police station. Afnan is currently in police custody on a five-day physical remand.
Meanwhile, Afnan’s father has sought pre-arrest interim bail to evade arrest in the case. The anti-terrorism court approved the interim bail of Shafqat Ali till November 27.
The bail was approved in exchange for bail bonds of Rs100,000.

The court ordered the suspect to join the investigation and sought a report from the investigation officer at the next hearing.
ATC judge Abhar Gul conducted proceedings on the bail petition.
Later in the day, the Lahore police claim to have also arrested a friend of the underage driver accused of killing six members of a family in Defence area of Lahore over a week ago.
The friend, Ibrahim, was supposedly sitting on the passenger seat with the main suspect, Afnan, who was driving.
Ibrahim is said to have confirmed that Afnan was driving the car, police has claimed, adding that the main suspect will also undergo a polygraph test today.
At the time of the incident, four friends, including Afnan, Ibrahim, Saad and Ali, were present in the car, the police said.
Ibrahim was questioned by DIG (Investigation) Imran Kishwar in his office.

Additional Sessions Judge Shahid Mahmood heard Afnan’s bail plea.
According to the petitioner’s lawyer, provisions of terrorism have been included in the case. After the inclusion of Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, the application is not maintainable.
The court then sought a report from the police on the inclusion of different sections in the case.
Earlier, the main suspect in the Defence, Lahore accident case has filed a post-arrest bail with the sessions court.
In the case of killing of six family members in an accident in Lahore’s Defence area, the underage main suspect, Afnan, filed a post-arrest bail application with the district and sessions court.
The application was filed under the provisions of murder included in the case report. An FIR into the incident has been registered with the Defence C police station and also includes provisions of terrorism.
