"Pushpa 2: The Rule," the eagerly awaited sequel to the 2021 film "Pushpa: The Rise," is set to hit theatres on August 15, 2024.

Mythri Movie Makers, the production company behind the successful franchise, made the announcement on social media. Directed by Sukumar, "Pushpa 2" will see the return of stars Fahadh Faasil as SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat and Rashmika Mandanna as Molleti Srivalli.
"Pushpa: The Rise" was released in December 2021 when the cinema industry was grappling with the challenges of bringing audiences back to theatres. The film played a significant role in rejuvenating interest in the big screen.
The storyline of "Pushpa" is set in the 1990s and centres around the red sandalwood mafia. It follows the rise of Pushpa, portrayed by Allu Arjun, within the smuggling underworld and explores a romantic angle with Srivalli, played by Rashmika Mandanna.
The film's climax features a tense confrontation between Pushpa and SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, portrayed by Fahadh Faasil. This cliffhanger ending left fans eager to learn what would happen next, as Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat vowed revenge on Pushpa.
"Pushpa 2" is set to mark Allu Arjun's return to the big screen after a hiatus of over two years, following the success of the first instalment in the franchise. Fans are eagerly anticipating the continuation of the gripping story.
