The Lahore District and Sessions Court heard the post-arrest bail application of the underage driver accused of killing six members of the same family in Lahore’s Defence area.
Additional Sessions Judge Shahid Mahmood heard Afnan’s bail plea.
According to the petitioner’s lawyer, provisions of terrorism have been included in the case. After the inclusion of Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, the application is not maintainable.
The court then sought a report from the police on the inclusion of different sections in the case.
Earlier, the main suspect in the Defence, Lahore accident case has filed a post-arrest bail with the sessions court.
In the case of killing of six family members in an accident in Lahore’s Defence area, the underage main suspect, Afnan, filed a post-arrest bail application with the district and sessions court.
The application was filed under the provisions of murder included in the case report. An FIR into the incident has been registered with the Defence C police station and also includes provisions of terrorism.
Five-day remand by ATC
Later, the anti-terrorism court (ATC) handed over Afnan to the police on five-day physical remand. The court also sought an investigation report at the next hearing.
He was earlier presented in the court by the police to seek his remand.
ATC judge Abhar Gul directed to fulfill all legal requirements on the issue of summoning the suspect Afnan from jail. In the matter of summons from jail, all legal requirements should be fulfilled, he remarked.
The court directed the police to produce the suspect before the judicial magistrate.
