The flow of remittances from overseas Pakistanis through Roshan Digital Accounts (RDA) has surged, surpassing $6.898 billion, while investments via RDA have soared to $753 million, as per recent data released by the State Bank of Pakistan.
In October 2023 alone, overseas Pakistanis funneled $142 million in foreign exchange through Roshan Digital Accounts, highlighting a continued influx of funds from abroad. Since September 2020, the cumulative remittance inflow through RDA has amounted to a substantial $6.998 billion, reflecting the trust and reliance placed by overseas Pakistanis in this digital platform.
Moreover, investments by overseas Pakistanis through Roshan Digital Accounts have been noteworthy. The data indicates that since September 2020, these individuals have directed $753 million into various investment avenues in Pakistan via RDA. Specifically, in October 2023, overseas Pakistanis injected $50 million into the country through Roshan Digital Accounts, further bolstering investment figures.
The breakdown of investments reveals a diversified portfolio as overseas Pakistanis have allocated $316 million in New Pakistan Traditional Certificates, $412 million in New Pakistan Islamic Certificates, and $25 million in the Pakistan Stock Market.
