In a bid to advance the cause of Islamic banking in Pakistan, Punjab University Professor Vice-Chancellor Dr Khalid Mahmood emphasised the need for additional measures during the opening ceremony of a prestigious event.
The gathering witnessed the presence of esteemed personalities, including Vice Chancellor of Baba Gurunanak University, Professor Dr Muhammad Afzal, and General Manager of the National Bank of Pakistan, Hasan Raza Khan.
Addressing the audience, Dr Khalid Mahmood underscored the importance of nurturing Islamic banking in the country. He asserted that while graduates from Hailey College of Commerce are well-equipped to make their mark in the market, concerted efforts are required to ensure the widespread adoption of Islamic banking principles.

Professor Dr.Muhammad Afzal commended the consistent increase in the number of students at Hailey College of Commerce, attributing it to the hard work and competence of the teaching staff.
He stressed the need for research that goes beyond mere quantity, emphasizing practical applications that benefit the business sector.
Hasan Raza Khan, General Manager of the National Bank of Pakistan, shared optimism about the bank's direction, hinting at forthcoming positive outcomes.
Mohammad Mustafa Mahmood, representing Saudi Arabia, highlighted the necessity of collaborative efforts for progress, identifying education as the primary catalyst. He suggested that the exchange of student delegations could foster international relations.
The Principal of Hailey College of Commerce, Prof. Dr Hafiz Zafar Ahmed, disclosed that the institution not only imparts education but also focuses on developing practical skills among students. He revealed that the college, for the first time, is organizing a three-day research week featuring international conferences, thesis competitions, seminars, and various research activities.
