In Lahore, following the recent tragic incident in Defence, the police have taken decisive measures to control underage driving.
Checkpoints have been set up at 190 locations across the city, enforcing regulations to prohibit individuals under the age of 18 from driving vehicles.
Authorities emphasize that actions have been taken against the parents of underage drivers.
The move comes in response to a distressing traffic accident in Lahore's Defence Phase 7, where a collision claimed the lives of six individuals from a single family, including two children.
According to rescue officials, the victims include 45-year-old Rukhsana, 4-year-old Anabia, 4-month-old Hazeefa, 27-year-old Muhammad Hussain, 30-year-old Sajjad, and 23-year-old Aisha.
Law enforcement has taken the underage driver, identified as Ifnan Shafqat, into custody and initiated legal proceedings.
The incident has prompted the Lahore police to intensify efforts to curb underage driving, with strict measures now in place at numerous checkpoints across the city.
