The electricity consumers of Karachi are all set to experience another massive load of price hike.
The power tariff for consumers in Karachi is expected to be raised byRs10.32 per unit.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) is set to hear the federal government’s request for the tariff raise today.
The government has sought the electricity rate increase in respect of various quarterly adjustments for 2022-23.
For the quarterly adjustment between October and December 2022, an increase of 47 paisas has been requested.
Moreover, Rs4.45 per unit has been requested to be recovered under quarterly adjustment for July to September 2022.
For the fourth quarterly adjustment, an increase of Rs5.40 has been sought.
Nepra will make a decision after conducting the hearing.
