Netflix's hit show Stranger Things is facing calls for a boycott after one of its stars, Noah Schnapp, was accused of liking an Islamophobic social media post.
Schnapp, who plays Will Byers in the show, allegedly liked a video on social media by Noa Tishby that many fans found to be offensive.
The video comes from an Israeli TV satire show and targets support for Palestinians on US college campuses.

Some of Schnapp's followers have defended him for interacting with the video while others have called for him to be removed from the show.
The video was shared by Tishby, an Israeli actress, writer, producer, and activist. Her Instagram bio says that she is a former special envoy for combating antisemitism and the author of a book called Israel A Simple Guide.

Schnapp himself is Jewish American and recently came out as gay. He has also stated that he wants peace for both Palestinians and Israelis.
Tishby captioned the post with a comment about how the video is "a huge part of our Jewish culture" and that it "helps with the pain".
Some social media users are calling for a boycott of Stranger Things because of Schnapp's alleged engagement with the video.
One user said, "Boycott Stranger Things I'm so serious we aren't watching that shit."
Another user said, "Reminder to boycott S5 of Stranger Things and not watch it or support it in any way!"
One user even said that people should cancel their Netflix subscriptions altogether.
