Pakistani fast bowler Haris Rauf has reported experiencing pain in his ribs and is undergoing diagnostic tests to ascertain the exact cause of his discomfort, according to a spokesperson of cricket team.
During the last match against New Zealand in ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023, he left the field after conceding 85 runs in 10 overs due to this condition.
Haris Rauf registered an embarrassing record during the game as he conceded the most sixes by a bowler in a World Cup edition.
He is also among the bowlers who have conceded most runs in a single edition of the World Cup.
Pakistani fast bowler Haris Rauf has not sustained any injury, as per a statement from the national team's spokesperson. His MRI scan results have also come back clear, he added.
The fast bowler will undergo regular medical assessments, the spokesperson said.
Notably, young pace sensation Naseem Shah had been ruled out of ongoing the World Cup 2023 due to a shoulder injury.
Pakistan are getting ready to face England in the 44th match of the ICC World Cup 2023 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, India, on November 11. It is a must-win game for the Green Shirts.
Earlier, all-rounder Shadab Khan had to leave the field due to a concussion during a match against South Africa in Chennai. He hasn't played any games since then, and it's uncertain if he will be able to participate in Pakistan's next match.
