Elon Musk has introduced a new AI chatbot called Grok through his startup, xAI, which is positioned as a direct competitor to OpenAI's ChatGPT and other generative AI chatbots.
Musk claimed that Grok is superior in certain aspects and showcased its performance in academic tests, particularly in mathematics and coding.
Grok boasts real-time access to data from X and operates on a novel engine known as Grok-1.
According to xAI, Grok excelled in various standard machine-learning benchmarks designed to evaluate mathematical and reasoning abilities, outperforming models like ChatGPT-3.5 and Inflection-1 within its computational class.
It did, however, fall behind models with more extensive training data and computational resources, such as GPT-4.
In addition to these benchmarks, xAI assessed Grok, Claude-2, and GPT-4 in the 2023 Hungarian national high school mathematics finals.

Grok and Claude-2 both received a C grade with scores of 59% and 55%, respectively, while GPT-4 secured a B grade with a score of 68%.
Musk mentioned that Grok is designed to inject humor and sarcasm into its responses and is capable of addressing provocative questions that many other AI systems would avoid.
Currently in its early beta stage, Grok is continually improving, and xAI is actively working on enhancing safety measures to prevent malicious use.
As of now, Grok is accessible to a limited number of users in the United States and is offered as part of the X Premium Plus subscription for $16 per month.
