An Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon resulted in the tragic deaths of three children and their grandmother on Sunday, as stated by a Hezbollah lawmaker representing the area.
This incident was described as a "serious development," and the lawmaker, Hassan Fadlallah, asserted that Israel would face consequences for the attack.
The mother of the three children, who were girls aged between 8 and 14, sustained fatal injuries during the strike which occurred while the car was travelling between the villages of Aynata and Aitaroun near the Israeli border.
Fadlallah expressed his conviction that Israel would be held accountable for its actions against civilians.
When questioned about earlier reports from Lebanese security sources concerning the Israeli strike that resulted in the deaths of three individuals in a car near Aynata, an Israeli army spokesperson noted that a statement regarding the incident in Lebanon would be issued later.
The ongoing hostilities between Israel and the Iran-backed Hezbollah, both heavily armed, have included exchanges of fire along the border.
These clashes began after a war erupted between the Palestinian group Hamas and Israel on October 7.
This situation has marked the most significant outbreak of violence along the border since the Israel-Hezbollah conflict in 2006.
