Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan has taken to social media to raise a compelling voice on the Israel-Gaza war and Pakistani actress Ushna Shah is in all praises for him.
Accusations have arisen that Muslim celebrities in India deliberately choose to remain silent on sensitive issues as they fear potential repercussions in the current political climate under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
This perceived silence among Muslim celebrities has sparked a debate about the challenges they may face in expressing their views.
Further, a huge number of Indians especially fundamentalist Hindus also appear to support Israel in the war.
In a heartfelt post on X, he highlighted the tragic loss of innocent lives in Gaza, particularly among children aged 0 to 10, due to ongoing violence.
The world's silence in the face of such distressing circumstances has left him deeply concerned.
Pathan, known for his contributions to Indian cricket, used his platform to draw attention to the plight of Gaza's young population.
He expressed his frustration with the lack of international action and called for urgent need for world leaders to unite and bring an end to the senseless killing that continues to claim the lives of innocent children.
Every day, innocent kids aged 0-10 in Gaza are losing lives and the world remains silent. As a sportsman, I can only speak out, but it's high time for world leaders to unite and put an end to this senseless killing. @UN #StopTheViolence #GazaChildren
