Armed assailants on Saturday kidnapped six footballers from Dera Bugti district of Balochistan after identifying them, however, the operation to recover the hostages is afoot.
According to the Dera Bugti Deputy Commissioner, the incident allegedly occurred near Pitt, a location a few miles from Sui, where six members of the Dera Bugti football squad who were traveling to Sibi from Dera Bugti were kidnapped by armed men.
Nawabzada Jamal Raisani, the interim provincial minister for sports and youth affairs, claimed that the footballers were kidnapped after being recognized and that armed suspects also abused them, adding that the kidnapping of athletes is regretful.
The effort to retrieve the kidnapped players is under progress, and there will be good news soon, according to Nawabzada Jamal Raisani, who also said that this event is a plot to undermine sports and peace.

An official statement released by the Chief Minister’s Secretariat stated that the CM has instructed the administration to step up efforts for the safe return of the kidnapped football players. In order to find the missing football players, the local government was instructed by the CM to put together a squad consisting of both police and levies.
