A recently circulated image featuring Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, has caught the attention of social media users.
The photograph captures Imran Khan seated in a car alongside a police officer, and it appears to be a selfie taken by the police officer sitting alongside him.
The police officer in the photograph has been identified as Qasim Khan Niazi and holds the position of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Islamabad, according to sources. It has been revealed that DSP Qasim Niazi is currently responsible for overseeing the transfer of prisoners and serving as the judicial guard during these movements.
Sources have shared that judicial guards accompany accused individuals during their transfers. While the exact date of this picture remains uncertain, it is alleged to have been taken during Imran Khan’s transportation from Attock Jail.
According to sources the image of Imran Khan was leaked by a lawyer associated with the political party. Sources further explained that DSP Qasim Niazi had shared the photograph with an acquaintance who happened to be a lawyer, leading to its public circulation.
Regarding the matter, no disciplinary action has been taken against DSP Qasim Niazi at this point. The question of whether taking a photograph with an accused individual warrants any specific action remains unresolved. Despite the situation, DSP Qasim Niazi continues to carry out his assigned duties.
