Four labourers and a policeman were killed in a firing incident on Tuesday morning by armed assailants in the Nasirabad suburb of Turbat city in Balochistan.
One person was injured in the firing and shifted to the Turbat teaching hospital. Soon after the incident, the police reached the spot and gathered evidence.
The four labourers reportedly belonged to Muzaffargarh and were identified as Muhammad Azeem, Shehbaz, Baqir Ali, and Shahzad Ahmed. The deceased police constable was identified as Atta Jan of Turbat.
Caretaker Balochistan Chief Minister Ali Mardan Domki has expressed regret and sorrow over the killing of four labourers and a policeman.
“The incident of terrorism is condemnable and intolerable,” he observed, adding that no religion in the world allowed terrorism.
Domki called the killing of unemployed workers a sad incident, and vowed that the culprits would be brought to justice. “The tradition of Balochistan is hospitality and not taking the lives of guests,” the CM added.
The CM sought a report from the Home and Tribal Affairs Ministry.
“Efforts to restore peace will not be allowed to be sabotaged,” Domki said, adding that an officer of the Balochistan Police was also martyred while performing his duties.
“The sacrifices of the security forces for the restoration of peace will not go in vain,” said the chief minister.
