The hearing of the bail petitions of PTI Chairman Imran Khan and Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi in the cipher displacement case was adjourned without proceeding.
The hearing was adjourned till September 11 owing to the judge of the special court of Official Secrets Act being on leave.
PTI lawyers Naeem Haider Panjotha, Intizar Panjotha, Khalid Yousuf and Ali Bukhari reached the Official Secrets Act court, but were informed by the court staff that Judge Abul Hasanat Zulqarnain was on leave today, due to which the bail application was adjourned without proceeding.
Speaking to the media outside the Judicial Complex, PTI lawyer Naeem Panjotha said the doors of justice were closed only for Imran Khan.
If the PTI chief has to be kept in jail then such a case should be made against him that does not become a reason for national embarrassment. When he had to be punished, the sessions court delivered the verdict in five days.
The lawyer further alleged that a fake report had been submitted in the high court regarding facilities available to the former prime minister.
Naeem Panjotha said the special court judge was present to grant a remand on Friday, but has now gone on leave today. Denying justice to Imran Khan and not hearing the bail application is injustice, he added.
“We request the high court to hear our petition and the Supreme Court summon the PTI chairman by issuing his production orders and give us a hearing,” he stressed.
