Chairman of Reliance Industries Ltd and billionaire Mukesh Ambani has reportedly received an email with death threat.
The email demands a sum of 200 million Indian rupees and threatens a possible shooting if the amount is not paid.
"If you don't give us 20 crore rupees, we will kill you. We have the best shooters in India," the email said.
The threat was attributed to an individual named Shadab Khan and was sent on October 27.
Authorities at Ambani's Mumbai residence, Antilia, discovered the death threat and then lodged a formal complaint with the police.
The Gamdevi Police Station has registered a complaint, and investigations are underway to trace the origins of the threatening email.
Mukesh Ambani has faced death threats in the past too.
Last year, Mumbai Police apprehended an individual from Bihar who had been making anonymous calls and issued threats against Ambani and his family.
The caller had specifically threatened to target both the HN Reliance Foundation Hospital and Antilia situated in South Mumbai.
Back in 2021, an SUV packed with explosives was discovered near Antilia.
The owner of the vehicle, a businessman named Hiran, was later found deceased in a creek in the nearby Thane area on March 5 of the same year.
