Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has extended heartfelt Easter greetings to the Christian community in Pakistan and around the world, emphasising the significance of the occasion as a reminder of the teachings of Hazrat Jesus (peace be upon him).
In a message shared on Easter Sunday, Prime Minister Sharif highlighted that Easter is a symbol of renewal, hope, and the universal values of sacrifice, forgiveness, and peace.
PM Shehbaz acknowledged the enduring influence of Hazrat Jesus (AS), one of Allah Almighty's chosen prophets, whose teachings of mercy, humility, and love continue to serve as a guiding light for humanity.
“Easter is a day that reminds us of the noble teachings of Hazrat Jesus (AS), whose message of mercy, humility, and love is still a source of guidance for all of us today,” said PM Sharif.
“The values of peace, tolerance, and respect for human dignity are shared responsibilities for all of us, regardless of faith.”
In his message, the Prime Minister also paid tribute to the Christian community’s role in the development of Pakistan, acknowledging their hard work, honesty, and dedication as a vital asset to the country’s progress.
“The Christian community has made invaluable contributions to the construction and development of our nation,” he said, emphasizing that their services have been an essential part of Pakistan's growth.
The premier expressed confidence that the Christian community would continue to play a crucial role in fostering peace and prosperity within Pakistan.
“The sacrifices and efforts of the Christian community remain a proud asset for our nation, and I am certain they will continue to contribute to building a peaceful and prosperous Pakistan,” he added.
The Prime Minister’s statement also emphasised the importance of unity and mutual respect among diverse communities, noting that universal values of sacrifice and peace resonate across all religions, promoting harmony and understanding among cultures and nations.
