Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram, decided to show Threads posts in people's Facebook feeds to help promote X rival, its new social network.
Some users weren't happy about this and complained. In response, Threads explained that they did it, so people could see Threads content on Facebook and Instagram.
They also said they're listening to feedback and making changes based on what users want.
Many users didn't like this change because they wanted their Facebook and Threads accounts to be separate. Some even thought it might make them stop using Threads.
Facebook has a history of combining features from its different platforms. For example, they put Instagram Reels on Facebook, and businesses on WhatsApp can advertise on Facebook.
But unlike those, the Threads and Facebook mix is not something you can turn off for now.
However, because Meta says they care about what users think, there might be an option to turn it off in the future.
But they probably won't completely get rid of it because Threads is struggling to compete with other social networks.
Threads was launched by Meta a few months ago to try to get people who were unhappy with another platform, called "X," to join.
At first, a lot of famous people joined Threads even before it officially started. But now, not as many people are using it, and Meta has to compete with other social networks like Mastodon and Bluesky.
If Threads wants to get more users, it will probably have to grow slowly over time, like other social networks.
