Saudi Arabia has approved an additional Hajj quota of 10,000 for those who missed the initial registration deadline for Pakistani pilgrims.
The development came after deputy prime minister Ishaq Dar contacted Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, formally requesting an increase in Pakistan’s Hajj quota.
The special request was aimed at accommodating those individuals who could not register within the set timeframe. Responding positively, Saudi authorities approved the expansion of Pakistan's Hajj quota.
The decision has been widely welcomed as it paves the way for thousands of more pilgrims to perform Hajj this year under the government scheme.
