Organisers of the Karachi edition of the annual Aurat March have called out PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif over his comments regarding the women who participate in PTI public gatherings.
In a series of tweets on their X account, the Aurat March organisers said that once again, the former prime minister has taken a “cheap shot” on political activities of women in his political opposition.
Bohat khoob! Aik baar phir Nawaz Sharif, PML-N ke sarbarah ne siyasi mukhalifat mein khawateen ki siyasi sargarmiyon pe sasti juggat ki. Unhon ne abhi tak yeh nahi seekha ke khawateen ko 'achi' aurat aur 'buri' aurat mein taqseem karna pathron ke zamanay ka tareeqa-e-kar hai. 1/3 pic.twitter.com/c947nAGSvO

He has still not learnt that dividing women between ‘good’ and ‘bad’ is a practice from the Stone Age. Questioning someone’s personal character for being fond of dancing is extremely pathetic.
“We suggest Nawaz Sharif come out of the cave of misogyny and shine some light on his thoughts,” they posted.
On Saturday, during his address to a public gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore upon his return from London after four years, Nawaz had pointed out towards the women in the crowd and said they were listening very quietly as opposed to the ones dancing to the drumbeat at the PTI's public events.
