The Saudi Riyal (SAR) continued its upward trend against the Pakistani Rupee (PKR) in the open market, reaching Rs74.75 on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
The selling rate also saw an increase, now standing at Rs75.15.

The Riyal is the official currency of Saudi Arabia, abbreviated as SAR or SR, and is subdivided into 100 halalas. Currency exchange involves converting one currency into another, such as Pakistani Rupees into US Dollars, UAE Dirhams, and other major currencies.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in defence and security. This commitment was reiterated during a meeting between Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah.
Accompanying the Prime Minister were Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The discussions focused on deepening strategic, economic, and defence ties between the two nations.
Overseas Pakistanis residing in Saudi Arabia continued to be the top contributors to remittances, sending $744.4 million in February 2025. This marks a 2.21% increase compared to January 2025 and a 37.88% rise compared to February 2024.
