The first cargo flight from Urumqi, China, arrived at Islamabad International Airport, marking the beginning of a new trade link between the two countries.
The flight carried over 25 tonnes of goods, enhancing cargo transportation between China and Pakistan.
The Boeing aircraft, operated by SF Cargo, landed with 22,775 kilograms of cargo and was warmly received by Chief Operating Officer and Airport Manager Aftab Gilani. Speaking on the occasion, Gilani announced that two cargo flights will operate weekly, with plans to increase the frequency to four flights per week soon.
This new cargo service is expected to boost trade opportunities, facilitating faster and more efficient exports for Pakistan. A PIA spokesperson confirmed that the cargo network will soon expand, strengthening commercial ties between China and Pakistan.
