Minister of State for Interior and Senator Talal Chaudhry categorically stated that no new counter-terrorism operation was set to begin.
Expressing his thoughts, Chaudhry accused Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur of attempting to create confusion regarding the national security parliamentary meeting.
Chaudhry emphasised, “The KP chief minister claims that no operation will be authorised, but let me make it clear – no new operation is going to take place.”
He further reassured that the National Action Plan and efforts towards stability would continue robustly.
Chaudhry blamed the previous PTI government for the current situation, stating that the seeds of today’s issues had been sown during their tenure.
He said, “Had it not been for the militants being allowed to settle, these circumstances would not have arisen. When people take up arms, the only solution is to respond with force.”
He noted that 95% of terrorist activities were occurring in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. “If these two provinces do not stand united, how can terrorism be eradicated? Both provinces, alongside the federal government and military, must fight this war together,” Chaudhry said.
“We have made the decision to fight this war, and, God willing, we will emerge victorious,” he added.
Chaudhry also criticised the rhetoric coming from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, stating that it raised questions about loyalty to the country.
He labelled the PTI founder as the ‘chief patron of terrorists’.
