Pakistan Meteorological Department's Tropical Cyclone Warning Center has issued a second alert for tropical Cyclone Tej.
This alert comes as a depression in the southwestern Arabian Sea gradually intensifies and moves in west direction.
While this development is causing concern in the region, there is no immediate threat to the coastal areas of Pakistan.
According to authorities, the depression, located approximately 1830km from Karachi and 1760km from Gwadar, may potentially transform into a deep depression.
The situation is being closely monitored as it unfolds.
The alert states that this depression is expected to gain strength and evolve into a full-fledged typhoon by Sunday (tomorrow) morning.
It is projected that the typhoon's path will take it towards Oman and Yemen, posing potential risks to those areas.
Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz has aptly said that the name of this typhoon is "Tej," which is suggested by India and signifies "speed."
