The Pakistani bowler Hasan Ali described the loss to India as "painful," but he also stated that the squad has gotten over the setback and is now focused on their World Cup encounter against Australia on Friday.
Speaking ahead of their match against Australia in Bengaluru, Hasan Ali displayed a candid and witty approach during a press conference.
The fast-bowling sensation acknowledged that Pakistan had faced a temporary setback in the World Cup, but he humorously mentioned that petrol prices had dropped in Pakistan, and now the car [Pakistan team] will drive like this. We will take two points from each stop.”
Addressing concerns about players’ health and fitness, he noted that injuries and illnesses were beyond anyone's control.
"We had a constructive conversation while seated together and spoke about the areas that want improvement. We made an effort to get better in the nets. Australia is a challenging team to play against. However, we are also a big team. We have a large squad that is here to win the World Cup. In addition to attempting to play excellent cricket, we are here to win the World Cup," stated Ali.
Responding to a question about Pakistan's fans, Hasan Ali mentioned the increasing number of journalists at the press conference and humorously attributed the rise to their presence.
Reflecting on his return to the Pakistan team after a year, Hasan Ali described it as a "wild card" entry, emphasizing his role as a fast bowler with a penchant for taking wickets.
He stressed the importance of taking wickets while also maintaining a good run rate, which he believed would naturally increase as a result of victories.
Hasan Ali recognized that, in a match against India, a player could be both a hero and a zero, highlighting the unpredictable nature of the game.
The Pakistan cricket team has played three matches in the ongoing World Cup in India, securing wins against the Netherlands and Sri Lanka but facing defeat at the hands of arch-rivals India.
