The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) government paid a substantial sum of Rs 6.39 billion in advertisement expenses.
Samma TV has obtained comprehensive details regarding the former coalition government’s expenditure on advertisements for TV and newspapers.
This figure includes the settlement of dues from the PTI period, amounting to Rs 2.47 billion. During this time frame, the PDM government extensively promoted various programs, such as the Kisan package, Youth Program, Benazir Income Sport Program, and national festivals, with total expenditures of Rs 5.83 billion. Notably, there is still an outstanding amount of Rs 1.40 billion to be settled.
Additionally, federal ministries and institutions spent more than Rs 1.1 billion for advertisements from July 2022 to July 2023. However, a significant sum of over Rs 8.70 billion remains unpaid.
These revelations shed light on the substantial sums invested in advertising during this period, raising questions about financial accountability and budget management.
