The Shalimar Express, traveling from Lahore to Karachi, met with an accident near Shahdara, causing three of its coaches to derail.
Following the incident, train operations between Lahore and Faisalabad have been suspended.
According to railway officials, no casualties or injuries have been reported so far. Authorities are working to restore train services as soon as possible.
A major incident was narrowly avoided when the Shalimar Express, traveling from Lahore to Karachi, derailed near the vicinity of Barkat Town. The train was severely impacted when a 200-year-old wooden track broke, causing the train to tip over.
The train, however, managed to avoid falling into the populated area, as it got stuck in the middle of a bridge.
Railway authorities have been blamed for the accident due to their negligence in maintaining the track.
Rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the scene following reports of the accident. Thankfully, there have been no reports of casualties, and the train narrowly escaped a major disaster.
Both railway police and staff arrived at the site to manage the situation.
