The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued a reminder to international travellers bringing mobile phones into the country to register their devices in compliance with national regulations.
According to the PTA, passengers arriving in Pakistan are granted a temporary registration facility for their mobile phones for a short period. However, those staying in the country for more than 120 days are required to complete the regular registration process and pay the applicable tax prescribed by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
The PTA emphasized that all individuals must ensure they pay the prescribed tax for device registration to avoid any inconvenience or disruption in mobile services. The registration process is designed to streamline the use of mobile devices in Pakistan and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
This reminder comes as part of the PTA’s ongoing efforts to regulate the use of mobile phones and prevent the misuse of unregistered devices.
