A sessions court in Lahore has sentenced a man to death for the rape and murder of a seven-year-old girl.
Additional Sessions Judge Malik Tanveer Ahmad Awan delivered the verdict after hearing arguments of both sides, culminating in a death sentence as well as 21 years of imprisonment.
The case, registered by Manawan Police Station in 2022, involved the brutal rape and murder of a young girl whose body was subsequently discovered in a swimming pool. Law enforcement officials successfully apprehended the perpetrator using modern technological methods.
During the trial, the prosecution presented compelling evidence and witness testimonies that proved instrumental in securing the conviction. The court found the accused guilty on multiple charges, resulting in the maximum punishment under law.
