Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and world over are observing India's Republic Day, as Black Day today to protest persistent denial of their democratic right to self-determination by India.
Call for the protest has been given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and other pro-freedom organizations.
The day is marked by a complete shutdown in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, along with anti-India rallies in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan, and key global cities.
These actions will send a clear message to the international community that India, as the occupier of Kashmiris’ fundamental rights, has no moral or legal standing to celebrate its Republic Day in the territory.
Meanwhile, heightened restrictions in the name of security measures have compounded the already dire conditions faced by the Kashmiris.
In a message from New Delhi’s notorious Tihar jail, incarcerated APHC Chairman Masarrat Aalam Butt condemned India’s military presence in Jammu and Kashmir as illegal, unconstitutional, and a violation of international law.
Protest outside Indian High Commission in Islamabad
Kashmiris across Pakistan are observing Indian Republic Day as Black Day, protesting against India's ongoing occupation of Kashmir.
In Islamabad, a large protest is taking place in front of the Indian High Commission, organized by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference.
The demonstration is attended by a significant number of people, including women and children. Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, has also joined the protest.
Protesters are wearing black armbands and waving black flags, symbolizing their rejection of India’s actions in Kashmir.
The demonstrators are vocal in their condemnation of India's policies, with many asserting that India is not a democratic nation but a fascist state.
The protesters also highlighted the denial of basic human rights in Indian-occupied Kashmir, calling out India's oppressive tactics against the Kashmiri people.
Indian allegations against Pakistan aimed at covering up state terrorism
Prime Minister of Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) Chaudhry Anwarul Haq has accused India of using false allegations against Pakistan to cover up its own state-sponsored terrorism.
Speaking at a press conference, he claimed that India had orchestrated killings in Canada and the United States to further its political agenda.
Haq criticized the international community for its double standards, stating that the world could no longer accept such practices. He emphasized that the fight for freedom in Kashmir would require sacrifices, as freedom struggles are often fought with blood.
The Prime Minister stressed that merely moral and diplomatic support would not resolve the Kashmir issue.
He called for concrete steps to advance the cause of Kashmir's independence and urged the international community to take stronger action in supporting the region’s right to self-determination.
