A special anti-terrorism court in Sargodha has issued arrest warrants for PTI central leader Omer Ayub Khan after he failed to appear for the third consecutive time in court.
The hearing concerned riot and vandalism cases related to events in Mianwali on May 9, 2023.
During the court session, Punjab Assembly opposition leader Ahmed Khan Bachhar, Sanam Javed, Alia Hamza, MNA Bilal Ijaz, and dozens of party workers were present. The court declared over 25 suspects, including a former union council chairman, as declared absconders for non-appearance.
The court ordered all suspects to appear on January 30 and instructed those who were present to submit bonds. Omer Ayub's continued absence prevented the indictment of all the suspects in the case.
