Following Pakistan's significant loss to India in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 on October 14, former Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik shared some advice for the Pakistan team led by Babar Azam.
In the much-anticipated match between India and Pakistan, the former dominated and won by seven wickets.
Karthik, speaking to Sky Sports, suggested that the Pakistan team take a brief break from social media to avoid the expected online criticism.
"It will be tough for them for the next few days. They will receive many negative messages. If I were in their place, I would stay away from my phone for a couple of days. That's a good start," said Karthik.
Karthik's advice is based on the idea that while Pakistan couldn't compete with India that day and noted that they had previously won their first two matches in the tournament.
He emphasized the importance of keeping their composure to prevent more upsets given the long journey still ahead in the competition.
"So, how should they deal with a loss like this? It's a bit of a psychological blow. It's one thing to compete and lose, like when they lost to India in Melbourne in a T20 match a year ago. They fought until the end, but India had a better team. However, today they didn't compete," explained the former wicketkeeper-batsman turned commentator.
