Pakistan cricket team’s opener, Saim Ayub, who sustained an ankle injury during the Cape Town Test against South Africa, has begun his treatment at Cleveland Hospital in London.
The 21-year-old Saim Ayub, sent to London on the special instructions of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, was warmly received by officials from the Pakistan High Commission upon his arrival.
Medical evaluations, including X-ray and MRI tests, have been conducted at Cleveland Hospital. Their results will be obtained tomorrow, after which a panel of expert doctors, including top orthopaedic specialists Dr Lucky Jeyaseelan and Dr David Redfern, will treat his injury.
Sources say that doctors will decide how long the treatment will take after assessing his reports.
Pakistan's High Commissioner to the UK, Dr Muhammad Faisal, has been assigned to oversee Saim Ayub’s treatment. The top orthopaedic team is optimistic about devising a thorough recovery plan after evaluating the test results.
