After months of speculation, Samsung has officially announced its next Galaxy Unpacked event, set for January 22, 2025, in San Jose, California.
While the company is expected to unveil its usual trio of flagship devices—the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra—a newly released teaser hints at a possible fourth variant: the Galaxy S25 Slim.
Galaxy S25 Slim: The fourth device in the teaser?
Samsung’s teaser image for Unpacked 2025 features the edges of four smartphones, sparking curiosity. Initially, it was assumed that one of the three Galaxy S25 models had been used twice in the teaser. However, industry insiders now believe that Samsung could be introducing an entirely new model—the Galaxy S25 Slim.
This aligns with previous leaks suggesting a new Samsung smartphone with model number SM-S937B.
While it hasn’t appeared as frequently as the other Galaxy S25 series models, reports indicate that the S25 Slim may launch in the second quarter of 2025.
Galaxy S25 Slim: Expected specifications
- Ultra-thin body (6.xmm thick)
- 7-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2x display
- Snapdragon 8 Elite processor
- 12GB RAM
- 200MP primary camera
- 50MP ultrawide + 50MP 3.5x telephoto camera
- 4,700-5,000mAh battery
These specs hint at a high-end device aimed at users who don’t need an S Pen or 5x zoom but still want flagship performance in a slim design.
Samsung vs. Apple: Competing with the iPhone 17 Air?
Rumours suggest that Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Slim directly responds to Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Air, an ultra-thin iPhone expected to launch in Q3 2025.
With competition heating up in the ultra-thin smartphone category, the Galaxy S25 Slim could be Samsung’s answer to Apple’s design-focused innovation.
