Angelina Jolie has officially finalized her divorce from Brad Pitt after an eight-year legal battle, but instead of dwelling on personal matters, she took to Instagram to highlight the humanitarian crisis in Syria.
Jolie’s heartfelt message on Syria
The 49-year-old Oscar-winning actress posted an image of a war-torn region, writing:
“Syria: over 17 million people in need of aid. Syria has been decimated by almost 14 years of conflict, displacement, and economic deterioration.”
Her post cited information from the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), an organization she has previously worked with in Jordan and Yemen.

- She secured an $80 million settlement, which includes revenue from selling her stake in Château Miraval, their French estate.
- The couple, who were declared legally single in 2019, had ongoing disputes over custody and financial matters.
- Her lawyer stated that Jolie is “exhausted but relieved” to have this chapter behind her.
Jolie’s upcoming projects in 2025
Despite the personal turmoil, Jolie is moving forward with a packed career schedule:
- Maude v Maude – an action thriller co-starring Halle Berry, described as “Bond vs. Bourne” with a comedic twist.
- Every Note Played – starring Christoph Waltz.
- Maleficent 3 – expected to be a major release.
- Without Blood – a drama featuring her close friend Salma Hayek, which premiered at TIFF 2024.
Additionally, she continues expanding Atelier Jolie, her NYC-based fashion and arts brand, working closely with her daughters Zahara and Vivienne.
A new chapter
While the past eight years have been turbulent, sources close to Jolie say she remains focused on her family, career, and humanitarian efforts. A friend shared:
“She doesn’t speak ill of Brad publicly or privately. She’s been trying hard to be light after a dark time.”
As Jolie embraces this new chapter, she remains committed to using her platform for global advocacy while rebuilding her personal and professional life.
