Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi have strongly condemned the recent firing on government vehicles in Lower Kurram, which resulted in injuries to Deputy Commissioner Javedullah Mehsud and other officials.
Governor Kundi expressed his dismay, calling the attack "condemnable" and criticizing the administration's incompetence for allowing such an incident.
He stressed that the attack clearly indicated the provincial government's failure to maintain security.
"The injury of Deputy Commissioner Mehsud is a result of administrative failures," Kundi said, praying for the DC’s swift recovery.
Similarly, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi termed the attack a "conspiracy to sabotage the peace agreement" and described the act as a "heinous attempt to damage efforts for peace."
He expressed deep concern over the attack, stating that the miscreants had deliberately targeted the government's stability.
Mr Naqvi also prayed for the full recovery of Deputy Commissioner Mehsud.
This incident follows the recent reopening of the Tal-Parachinar road after a three-month closure, a major development in restoring stability to the region.
The Tal-Parachinar road had been blocked due to ongoing sectarian violence and tribal clashes, which severely hampered the movement of essential goods and services, contributing to a humanitarian crisis.
After an intense peace agreement was signed between warring tribes, the road was officially reopened earlier today, allowing the first convoy of over 75 vehicles to pass through and deliver much-needed supplies, including medicine, wheat, and food items, to the conflict-ridden Kurram district.
