The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government said preparations were underway for the first convoy to travel to Kurram on Saturday under strict security arrangements.
KP government spokesperson Barrister Saif said in light of the Apex Committee’s decision, efforts will be made to disarm the region and eliminate bunkers.
Both parties involved have been given 15 days to devise a comprehensive plan for surrendering weapons, as per the agreement.
Barrister Saif further stated that the public display and use of weapons will be strictly prohibited. Additionally, no fundraising for the purchase of arms will be allowed.
The agreement also bans the construction of new bunkers by either side, and existing bunkers in the region must be dismantled within a month.
