Pakistan interim head coach Aaqib Javed on Thursday stressed the need for forming separate teams for both the Tests and ODIs.
According to the details, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shared a podcast on the social media platform. Javed, red-ball captain Shan Masood and white-ball captain Mohammad Rizwan among others featured in the video.
He talked about the forthcoming Champions Trophy, slated to happen in Pakistan, saying. “We will be looking forward to utilising the opportunity of playing in the home conditions in the Champions Trophy.”
Javed stated, “We cannot continue with one player for an entire year.”He added, “People were left in frustration after getting drubbed in the series continuously.”
Meanwhile, expressing his thoughts, Masood said, “The efforts were made to prepare good wickets at the home grounds. The wickets had prepared that suit the spinners.”
“The performance is getting better from the recently held series,” he added.On the other side, Rizwan acknowledged the team performance in the ODI series against Australia and South Africa.He admitted that the last year (2024) was challenging for the Green Shirts.
Rizwan stated, “We look to perform better in the upcoming events.”
