Two people were injured when the vehicle of caretaker interior minister Sarfaraz Bugti reportedly met with an accident near the Islamabad airport.
However, a spokesman denied that the car was part of the motorcade of the interior minister.
According to the police, the accident took place at Thalian Interchange near the Islamabad airport when an oil tanker approaching from the wrong direction of the road and hit a car that was part of Sarfaraz Bugti’s motorcade. The driver of the oil tanker was arrested.
A spokesman for the Interior Ministry clarified that a vehicle from the ministry met with an accident while going to the airport, however it was neither part of the minister’s motorcade nor was the minister travelling in it.
PSO Syed Ameen and the driver were injured in the accident and were shifted to PIMS Hospital. Both were said to be out of danger.
