Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar met United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken and National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan during his visit to the US.
Following the meetings, pro-Khalistan protests gained momentum in Washington. The protesters accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government of committing global killings and operating espionage networks against Sikhs in Western countries.
The demonstrators in Washington chanted slogans such as "End Modi Politics" while demanding sanctions and justice for the killings of Sikh activists.
Moreover, the protesters alleged that Jaishankar supported targeting Sikh activists and backing extrajudicial killings.
They claimed that his visit primarily aimed to protect the alliance between Modi and industrialist Gautam Adani.
