The price of the 24-karat gold per tola has significantly decreased by a record Rs16,300 in the last two days.
On Thursday, the 24-karat yellow metal lost Rs5,800 per tola and now the new price of the 24-karat gold per tola reached Rs216,500.
On Wednesday, the price of gold per tola decreased to record Rs10500 to reach Rs222,300 in domestic bullion markets of the metropolis Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan and other places.

On Thursday morning, the local currency strengthened by Rs1.98 in the interbank market. Its value in the currency market was recorded at Rs305, a fall from Wednesday’s Rs306.98.
Later around noon, the dollar lost Rs1.73 and was traded at Rs305.25 in the interbank market.
