Pakistan’s former cricket captain Babar Azam broke a major record set by former Indian captain MS Dhoni during the ongoing series against South Africa,
Azam scored his first half-century in the ODIs in 411 days to mark the end of a 21-innings drought. His last half-century in ODI was scored against New Zealand in a World Cup match, where he remained unbeaten on 66 runs.
In Cape Town, Babar Azam played a knock of 73 runs off 95 balls, including seven boundaries.

This innings helped him break MS Dhoni’s record of 38 half-centuries scored against SENA countries (South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia). Babar Azam surpassed this with 39 half-centuries, setting a new benchmark in cricket.
Before this, Babar Azam also set a new record for the fastest 11,000 runs in T20 cricket during the second T20 match, surpassing West Indian star Chris Gayle’s previous record.
