Punjab Chief Minister's Task Force on Prisons Chairman, Rana Manan Khan visited Attock District Jail to inspect various facilities.
During his visit, he toured the jail's hospital, women's barracks, kitchen, watch tower, general barracks, and other sections. The Superintendent of Attock Jail briefed Rana Manan Khan, who also interacted with the prisoners. He stated that Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, was making every effort to ensure the welfare of inmates across the province.
He emphasised that under the leadership of Maryam Nawaz Sharif, prisoners would be rehabilitated to become useful citizens of Pakistan, contributing to society’s development.
Rana Manan Khan added that the visit was part of ongoing efforts to reform the prison system. He noted that currently, 1,800 PTI workers were incarcerated at Attock jail and were provided with all necessary facilities as per the jail manual.

He expressed the government's commitment to end politics of hatred, highlighting the frequent announcement of public welfare projects by Punjab's Chief Minister.
He further encouraged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government to draw lessons from Punjab's initiatives and contribute to the development of their province.
He also assured that efforts were underway to eliminate drugs, bribery, and other vices from Punjab’s jails, with a strong focus on prisoner education and rehabilitation.
Additionally, he mentioned that steps were being taken to promote industries within jails and to facilitate the transfer of prisoners to their respective district jails. He concluded by stressing the importance of moving towards progress and light for the betterment of the country.
