Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli are among Bollywood's most adored couples, often making headlines for their charming family life with their children, Vamika and Akaay.
Earlier this year, rumours began swirling about the family potentially relocating to London. These speculations gained traction after Virat hinted at his future plans, revealing that he intends to step away from public life after retiring from cricket. The rumours were further validated when Virat’s childhood coach, Rajkumar Sharma, discussed the matter publicly.
In an interview with Dainik Jagran, Rajkumar confirmed that Virat and his family are planning to settle in London. He stated, "Virat apne bachon aur patni Anushka Sharma ke saath London mein shift hone ki yojna bana rahe hain. Vo bahut jald hi Bharat chhod kar wahan basne wale hain." (Virat is planning to move to London with his children and wife Anushka Sharma. He will soon leave India and settle there)."
Despite this, Rajkumar clarified that Virat isn’t considering retirement yet and might even play in the 2027 ODI World Cup. "Virat is still super fit, and retirement isn’t on the cards anytime soon. He’s got so much more to give to the game. I’ve known him since he was a kid, and I can say with confidence that there’s plenty of cricket left in him,” he added.
Privacy has always been a priority for Virat and Anushka, especially concerning their children. The couple has made efforts to keep their kids away from the public eye and has asked photographers not to capture their images. In London, they’ve found respite from constant media attention. Virat shared in an interview that during a two-month stay in the city, he and Anushka cherished the freedom of walking unnoticed and enjoying private family time, which he described as surreal.
During the IPL season, Virat also discussed his life plans post-cricket. Speaking at Royal Challengers Bangalore's Royal Gala Dinner, he mentioned that after his cricketing career ends, he plans to take an extended break and step away from the spotlight. He said, "For the time I’m here, I would give everything to the game, and this is what keeps me going."
The couple has also explored ventures beyond cricket and acting, co-owning a UK-based management consultancy firm. Over the past year, they have frequently been spotted enjoying their time in London, further fueling rumors of a potential permanent move. Earlier this year, Anushka gave birth to their second child, Akaay, in London, adding to the speculation.
On the cricket front, Virat has faced challenges with his form recently, scoring low after a century in Perth. He aims to regain his touch during the upcoming matches in Melbourne and Sydney, crucial for India’s chances of securing a spot in the ICC WTC final.
Meanwhile, Anushka, who was last seen in a lead role in Zero (2018), made a brief cameo in her brother Karnesh Sharma's film Qala in 2022.
