Rumours about a possible rift in Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan's marriage have been dispelled, following a recent public appearance that put such speculation to rest.
On Thursday, Aishwarya was seen attending her daughter Aaradhya's school event in Mumbai, accompanied by her father-in-law, Amitabh Bachchan.
Aishwarya's outing with in-laws
Several videos surfaced on social media showing a warm interaction between Aishwarya and Amitabh Bachchan, effectively silencing any talk of marital discord between her and Abhishek. In the video, Aishwarya can be seen arriving with Amitabh Bachchan at the Dhirubhai Ambani School’s annual day function in Mumbai.

She is seen holding Amitabh’s hand as they walk into the venue, wearing traditional Indian attire. Abhishek Bachchan, too, can be seen arriving in the same vehicle, with the family greeting event organizers with affectionate hugs.
Social media users were quick to comment, praising the Bachchan family and pointing out how the video puts an end to rumours. One comment read, “This settles all the rumours once and for all. Now, the media will have to find another story,” while another expressed, “RESPECT BACCHAN FAMILY.”
Background of the rumours
Speculation about tension between Aishwarya and the Bachchan family started circulating in July 2024, after Aishwarya and her daughter Aaradhya arrived separately at Anant Ambani’s wedding. In contrast, the rest of the Bachchan family -- Amitabh, Jaya, Abhishek, Shweta, and others -- appeared together. These rumours intensified after the Bachchan family did not publicly wish Aishwarya on her birthday earlier this month.
Although neither Aishwarya nor Abhishek have addressed the rumours directly, these recent public appearances together have effectively put those speculations to rest. Aishwarya and Abhishek, married in 2007, share a daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan, born on November 16, 2011.
