Former boxer Amir Khan has claimed that people are scared to come out in support of Palestine during the ongoing war with Israel.
The Pakistan-born British boxer took to social media platform X to say that 'Palestinian lives matter' and that he has "never been scared to speak" his mind.
"My entire career, my aim was to become a champion and use my fame and influence to make a positive change in the world. I’ve never been scared to speak my mind and stand up for the down trodden," his post read.
"Recently when Ukraine was attacked by Russia, I personally flew to Poland to support the Ukrainian refugees who had been displaced by the effects of war. So many people spoke up about these atrocities but as the world watches what is unfolding in Palestine, I see so many of my peers, friends and colleagues who are remaining silent."
"Why? It’s become apparent that people are scared to show their support for Palestine. Palestinian lives matter. The world will remember who spoke up and who didn’t."

The former boxer said that it's become clear that people are scared to show their support for Palestine and that it's even worse that his own people are talking down to him for supporting the innocent lives being lost.
He added that Palestinian lives matter and that the world will remember who spoke up and who didn't. God will remember who stayed silent while innocent Muslims blood was spilled.
It is important to note that over 260,000 people have been forced to flee their homes in the Gaza Strip as heavy Israeli bombardments from the air, land, and sea continue to hit the Palestinian enclave, according to the United Nations (UN).
Gaza's health ministry said that over 1,300 people have been killed and 6,000 wounded in the densely populated coastal enclave.
