Advisor to Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah said on Friday that the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif-led government and others averted the country’s risk of default.
Expressing his thoughts, Sanaullah took a dig at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, saying, “The PTI founder had dragged the country towards the economic crunch. He [PTI] is still looking to drag the country towards the economic crunch.”
“This is a big question: Is his [PTI founder] popularity increasing continuously?” he stated.
Speaking about the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Sanaullah said, “The efforts were made to sabotage the agreement with the IMF. The narrative was made that the country got defaulted. The narrative was made to attack Islamabad and spread unrest.”
He recalled the events that transpired on May 9, saying, “The military courts will deliver the verdict pertaining to the May 9 within one week. It was written in the press release that Faiz Hameed spearheaded the violent events that took place on May 9.”
“If Faiz Hameed is involved in May 9 mayhem, then this means that he is standing with the PTI,” Sanaullah said.
He maintained, “The PTI founder will be prosecuted under the Military Act if he [the PTI founder] is found guilty of the May 9 vandalism.”
“It is not right to discuss this matter in detail prior to the press conference of the DG ISPR,” said Sanaullah.
He stated, “The PTI founder will be prosecuted for brainwashing the minds of people through his speeches.”
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) stalwart said, “The PTI has orchestrated the May 9 mayhem.”
“The PTI founder was getting guidelines in line with the May 9 mayhem. If those who provided the guidelines to the PTI founder will be prosecuted, so will the PTI founder,” said Sanaullah.
