Australia’s Travis Head and India’s Mohammed Siraj have been found guilty of breaching cricket’s code of conduct after their fiery confrontation during the Adelaide Test.
Both players are expected to face fines or reprimands, though suspensions are unlikely given their clean records.
The altercation occurred on Day 2 of the second Test when Head, after hitting Siraj for a six, was dismissed by the Indian fast bowler.
Siraj gave Head a heated send-off, sparking a back-and-forth exchange between the two players.
The confrontation ignited the crowd, with Siraj receiving boos from the Adelaide fans.
Following the incident, Head acknowledged his part in the altercation, admitting he was disappointed with his reaction but also standing firm in defending himself.
Siraj, on the other hand, responded to the media, claiming Head had abused him, a claim Head later contested, stating that he had only complimented Siraj’s bowling.
Despite the tensions, the players seem to have moved on, with Head calling for everyone to let go of the incident and teammates like Josh Hazlewood praising Siraj’s intensity on the field.
The third Test between Australia and India is set to begin on December 14 in Brisbane.
